Science and Engineering Ethics Club is Established

The mission of the Science and Engineering Ethics Club is to bring together diverse perspectives and spread awareness about pressing ethical issues in the sciences.  We are committed to providing an open, respectful forum for discussions and events which are dedicated to exploring pressing questions raised by these issues.  The club welcomes undergraduate and graduate students of all backgrounds in order to promote interest and education of both club members and the public.

This semester SEEC has organized a lecture series called Ethics at Lunch, where club members and guests can get expert insight on pertinent ethical topics from ASU professors, through presentations and discussions over lunch.  We are also promoting a film series for students to view, analyze, and discuss the ideas found in various movies with bioethical themes.  The club is working with the AZ Donate Life organization to promote education about organ donation on campus.  Finally, SEEC is organizing a panel discussion on the subject of consciousness, which will feature professors and experts and be open to the public for questions and answers.
