Les Landrum: Protecting Nature's Library
"Basically, everything that's valuable to humans comes from plants," says ASU's Leslie Landrum, who is the curator for the ASU Herbarium – a collection of nearly 400,000 plant specimens. Landrum is an expert in vascular plants (oaks, pine trees, ferns and flowering plants). Similar to a librarian, Landrum documents and catalogues the diversity of plants that exist in Arizona and the Southwest.
