The MBL History Project has returned to Woods Hole, MA!

The MBL History Project has returned for another summer of expanding the digital archives and broadening the history of the Woods Hole community.

A group of graduate students from the Center for Biology and Society (Wes Anderson, Marci Baranski, J.J. LaTourelle, and Valerie Racine) are joined by University of Vienna PhD candidate Florian Huber, project coordinator Kate MacCord and PI Jane Maienschein at the Marine Biological Laboratory (MBL) this summer as part of the MBL History Project.

The MBL History Project is a digital initiative of the Center for Biology and Society at Arizona State University, run in conjunction with the MBL. Supported by the National Science Foundation, the group will wade through the rich MBL Library archives and materials from the Woods Hole community in order to bring the history of MBL to the public.

The group has taken up residence in the Lillie Building laboratory (L-228), and is well on their way into a six-week expedition through MBL history. Although the graduate student researchers will complete their work on June 27th, the doors of the MBL History Laboratory will stay open through August 1st. The MBL History Project welcomes support, feedback, and information from the Woods Hole community, so the door to the lab will remain open during working hours: Monday-Friday, 9am-4pm. If you are in the area, please stop by!
