AAAS Student Travel Grants
The AAAS (American Association for the Advancement of Science) meeting is the world's largest general scientific meeting. This year the annual event is in San Diego, CA from February 18th-21st, 2010 with the exciting theme “Bridging Science and Society”. This meeting is a wonderful opportunity for students to present research in poster form, to attend sessions on a full range of science and policy topics, and to network with members of the international scientific community!
Biology & Society Honors Undergrads are encouraged to apply for the AAAS Travel Grants. Completed applications should be turned into the Center for Biology & Society (LSC 284), no later than 4pm on Friday, October 2nd (extended deadline).
Bioethics in Film Series
Bioethics Film Series: “THE BRAIN" Schedule
Faculty, Students, & the Public Welcome
Each semester the Center for Biology and Society has a Bioethics in Film series. ASU students and faculty are encouraged to attend. Students may register for course credit. The theme for Fall 2009 is The Brain.
These four films were selected to represent different but complementary aspects of contemporary brain science and brain medicine. Viewing these films will set the stage to focus on ethical, personal, clinical, and societal dimensions of mental health, brain disease, and emerging neurotechnology.
